COLUMBUS, Ohio - After playing the Columbus Crew scoreless through the first half, the Marshall University men's soccer team allowed five second half goals as MU fell 5-0 to the professional MLS club Friday morning.

The Thundering Herd allowed a goal ten minutes into the second half as the Crew took a 1-0 advantage just after halftime. It took the 2008 MLS Cup Champions until the 80th minutes to find the back of the net again, and then scored on the Herd four times in 10 minutes.

"I thought we put forth a good effort today," Head Coach Bob Gray said. "They scored some late goals, but we hung with them for the majority of the game. It was just a great experience for our guys. It is a beautiful stadium, and we had a good turn out from Herd supporters."

Marshall continues spring competition tomorrow as the Herd is in Farmville, Va., for matches with Longwood University and the College of William & Mary. Plays starts at 11 a.m.
