Men's Soccer Tops Alumni 3-1

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University men's soccer team used three second half goals to defeat the Marshall Alumni squad 3-1 Sunday afternoon inside Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

Bartosz Warzycha broke the scoreless tie 20 minutes into the second half as he tapped in a cross from Diego Ayala. Alex Molina gave the Thundering Herd a 2-0 lead with a right foot crack from outside the box, and Todd McClure netted the third goal.

The exhibition ended with a successful penalty kick from the Alumni team.

Sunday's Alumni match concluded Marshall's spring season. The Herd enters the 2010 season with a core group of players returning from the 2009 team which went 10-7-2 and was the C-USA runner-up in the regular season and conference tournament.
