Marshall Track & Field Ready for C-USA Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Marshall University women's track & field team is in Orlando for the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, with competition to begin Thursday, May 13th, and conclude on Sunday the 16th.
The Thundering Herd will be led into UCF by seniors Andrea Jackson and LaTricia Jones, while freshmen Vanessa Jules and Amanda Kennedy also look to make the podium.
Jackson enters the weekend seeded second in the triple jump with her best distance of 12.48m. Jones will look to place in the shot put as she is ranked fourth heading into the weekend.
As Jackson holds the school record for the triple jump, a pair of freshmen school record holders look to excel in their best event this weekend. Jules is seeded fifth in the high jump and Kennedy is seeded eighth in the javelin.
On the track, Alecia Daniels will compete for recognition in hurdles events as she is seeded 12th in the 100 meter hurdles, and eighth in the 400 meter hurdles.
