Desirre Wilkerson Named Marshall Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.VA. - Desirre Wilkerson has been named Marshall's Athlete of the Week for her performances in this past week's matches against Tulsa and SMU.

This past week, Wilkerson led the team in attacks, kills, blocks, and points.

Her 16 kill and 20.5 points performance against SMU is the highest in both categories for her career. The .520 hitting percentage she attained against the Mustangs is the highest mark for any Marshall player in the 2011 season.

For the season, Wilkerson leads the team in blocks with 71 (13 solo, 58 assists) and has a 1.00 bps average. She also combines for 129 kills and seven service aces.
