Baseball Prepared to Host Scout Day

HUNTINGTON, W.VA. - The Marshall baseball program will host Scout Day for MLB scouts to evaluate the draft eligible talent on the 2011-12 Thundering Herd club today at 3:00 p.m.
The MU players will be timed in the 60-yard dash, partake in batting practice, infield/outfield drills followed by a scrimmage. The 8.5-inning game will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Last season, head coach Jeff Waggoner had eight players picked up in the MLB draft and two players signed as free agents. The eight players drafted was a Marshall record and the highest amount taken by any team in all of Conference USA.
Waggoner has produced a total of 22 players who have been drafted or signed by professional organizations since being named head coach in 2007.
