Marshall Wraps up Conference USA Indoor Championship Meet

HOUSTON - The Marshall University concluded action at the Conference USA Indoor Championships and now turns its attention to the outdoor season beginning March 18th.
The Herd had more quality performances on day of the meet as Jasia Richardson Richardson placed third overall in the triple jump, Amanda Hottenstein placing sixth in the shot put, and Elaine Derricott placing seventh in the long jump.
Richardson earned all-conference honors with her jump of 12.36m in the triple. Hottenstein, just a freshman, has a promising future as her toss of 13.32 meters was good for sixth overall. Derricott, who placed third overall in the heptathlon on Friday, followed up on day two with a seventh place mark of 5.67m in the long jump.
The MU 4x400 meter relay team placed eighth overall as Rolanda Bruce, Vanessa Jules, Elaine Derricott and Amber Pierson ran to a time of 3:56.54.
The Herd finished the competition in 12th place overall. UCF took the team title. MU begins its outdoor season at the Bulls Invitational on March 18th, hosted by the University of South Florida.
