SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Vanessa Jules of the Marshall University women's track and field team placed fifth in the high jump and tied her school record at the Meyo Invitational on the campus of Notre Dame.
Jules was one of many who tied or set personal bests at Notre Dame, which is one of the most prestigious events in the country. Her jump of 5-9 ties what she set at the Oiler Open in the first meet of the season.
The 4x400 meter relay set a season best as Amber Pierson, Jules, Elaine Derricott and Rolanda Bruce ran to a time of 3:58.37.
Hadassah Lynch and Lauren DeHays set season bests in the 500 meters as the two finished next to each other in times of 1:21.27 and 1:21.37, respectively.
Kathleen Clark also set a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:12. Jules and Alecia Daniels in the 400, DeHays in the long jump, Amber Pierson in the 200, Moriah Njoku in the 60 meter dash, Jasia Richardson in the triple jump and Molly Grove in the weight throw all had season best performances.
The Herd now moves ahead as MU competes next weekend at the Zips Invitational hosted by Akron.
