MU Gears Up For World Famous Penn Relays

PHILDELPHIA, Pa. - Home to more than 22,000 entrants over the four day span, a handful of top Marshall University women's track and field athletes participate in the 2011 Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday.
The Herd will compete mostly on Thursday as only Jasia Richardson's event is on Friday. Richardson is entered in the college triple jump.
On Thursday, Amanda Hottenstein will represent Marshall in the shot put. Two school record holders will compete in their top event as Amanda Kennedy goes in the college javelin and Vanessa Jules leaps in the college high jump. Elaine Derricott will enter her name in the college long jump.
To the track, MU will send its 4x400 meter relay squad as the team of Brittany Carey, Hadassah Lynch, Amber Pierson and Rolanda Bruce will share the baton.
