Lexington, Ky. - Marshall University's men's golf team opened up day one of the UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational Saturday in Lexington, Kentucky at the University Club of Kentucky. After two rounds, The Herd currently reside in fourth place with a total of 590 strokes. The hosting Kentucky Wildcats, tallied a 36-hole total of 577, which leads the 15-team field.
Bosten Miller (Charleston, W.Va./Capital HS) continues to rally Marshall, posting a score of 140 after two rounds for The Herd. Miller, who currently is tied for first among all competitors, composed his 36 holes with a 69 and 71, increasing his streak of rounds without going over par to five.
Brian Anania (Hurricane, W.Va./Hurricane HS) posted 151 strokes throughout the day, while Tas Sipowski (Jupiter, Fla.) recorded 153 strokes. Nathan Kerns (Ironton, Ohio/Ironton HS) and Jeremy Rogers (Buckhannon, W.Va) shot a 154 and 155, respectively.
The Thundering Herd look to climb the ladder on day two of the 54-hole tournament. Marshall will begin its final 18 Sunday at 9:03 a.m. ET as Jeremy Rogers tees off on hole one. In front of The Herd by one stroke is Austin Peay State, while Dayton currently holds a 10-stroke lead over MU.
