Herd Soccer to Conclude Weekend Against Winthrop

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- On the heels of its 3-1 victory over Oakland University on Friday night, the Marshall men's soccer team will play its second home game of the weekend on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. against the visiting Winthrop Eagles.
Marshall enters the contest with a 2-4 record, and has four different players - Tom Jackson, Jahvon Allison, Michael Hayes, and Kyle Sniatecki - who have each scored a goal apiece. Winthrop is led in the scoring department by Akeem Matthews and Alex Mantchev, who both have 3 goals apiece on the year.
The Eagles are 3-3 overall but have lost three games straight, the most recent being a 0-2 loss at Davidson.
Marshall fans both new and established are encouraged to come out and support the Herd as it tries to wrap up its weekend at home with its third straight win of the 2011 season. Qdoba Mexican Grill, Pita Pit, and Buffalo Wild Wings are all running promotions, so make the trip to Sam Hood Field and cheer on the team.
