Volleyball Finishes Training with Final Green and White Scrimmage

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall volleyball wrapped up preseason training with the second and final Green and White scrimmage on Tuesday evening.

The scrimmage mixed and matched the Marshall volleyball squad in a predetermined four game setup.

Standout performances came from Laura Der, who knocked down 17 kills and recorded 15 digs, while senior Katy Schad followed with 15 kills and nine digs.

Dorothy Rahal made her presence felt from behind the line and on defense, accounting for a match-high five service aces and 14 digs.

Freshman middle blockers Lauren Legge and Jillian Shemanski had another successful showing in the second preseason scrimmage. Legge listed seven kills and three block assists, while Shemanski had five kills, a blank slate in attack errors, and four block assists.

At the setter position, Sammie Bane and Katie Potts switched between teams and marked 37 and 28 assists, respectively.

As the Marshall volleyball team closes out preseason training, it begins to look toward the Thunder Invitational. The tournament will take place in the Cam Henderson Center on August 24-25.
