Kerns in First after Day One of Cobra-PUMA Invitational

FT. MYERS, Fla. - Nathan Kerns has a one shot lead and the Marshall men's golf team is in the seventh after the first two rounds of the Cobra-PUMA Invitational at the Miromar Lakes Golf Course in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Kerns, a senior had rounds of 68 (-4) and 67 (-5) on Sunday to assume a one-stroke lead over Edward Figueroa of Florida Golf Coast.
The Ironton, Ohio native's second round of 67 was the lowest score of the tournament.
The Thundering Herd as a team finds itself in seventh after the first 36 holes of play. Marshall as a team had scores of one-over 289 in the first round and a 6-over-par 294 in the second round for a total score of 583.
Tas Sipowski 's Sunday performance played a factor in the Herd's placement. The redshirt sophomore had a first round 1-over-par 73 and concluded play with a 4-over-par 76 in the second round. He sits in a tie for 39th.
The remainder of Marshall's team scores was Brian Anania, who finished the day with a 150 (+6) with rounds of 74 and 76. Jeremy Rogers was able to rebound after a first round six-over-par 78 with a three-over-par 75. Logan Lagodich rounded out the Herd with a total 36-hole score of 153 after rounds of 74 and 79.
Florida Gulf Coast sits in first with a team score of 558. The Herd is four strokes from the sixth place team, Jacksonville. The Dolphins compiled a score of 579 on Sunday.
