Day One Results

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Thundering Herd senior Crystal Walker headlined Marshall's track and field team on day one of the Kentucky Invitational, leaping - 19'0 - to a sixth place finish in the long jump Friday evening at the E.J. Nutter Field House.

In the weight throw competition, freshman Bethany Drury set a personal best 48'6 to grab a 20th place finish in the event.

"Overall I believe we got off to a good start," said Marshall assistant coach Willie Johnson. "We had some good things happen tonight. We are excited to see the entire team compete tomorrow."

Action will resume at the Nutter Field House Saturday at 11 a.m.
