HUNTINGTON, W.Va.-
Marshall baseball hosted its annual fall golf outing on Friday, Oct. 10 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane, W.Va.

There were just under 100 participants in the event, and the Marshall Dugout Club raised more than $20,000.

Former Major League pitcher and Herd alumnus Rick Reed partnered with his former battery mate, Vance Bunn, and Doug Eavenson and Phil Butcher to win the overall prize, shooting a round of 57.

The 2nd flight was won by baseball alums Matt White and Aaron Amburgey, who teamed with Glenn White and Nick Mayo with a round of 67.

The Herd also did a special promotion- "Hope for Helm," which raised money for former Herd infielder Matt Helm, who suffered a kayaking accident this summer. The Dugout Club raised around $1,000 for Helm, and T-shirts may still be purchased for $15. Contact coach Jeff Waggoner for more information, or visit voteforhelm.com
