HUNTINGTON, W.Va.-
Marshall volleyball (9-9) travels to the Lone Star State this weekend with many things on the line. The Herd faces North Texas (10-6) on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. ET. Marshall will look to go 4-0 in conference play for the first time since 2007, when the Herd won its first six league games.

Marshall is currently on a four-game win streak after sweeping state rival West Virginia on Wednesday 3-0.

HAVE YOU HERD?

Marshall sits atop C-USA with three consecutive wins, and has improved to a .500 record after the demanding three-set win over WVU.

Sophomore Ally Kiekover (Grand Rapids, Mich.), reigning C-USA Offensive Player of the Week, continued to dominate, turning in 16 kills and zero errors in Wednesday's match, recording personal- and team-best of .667 hitting percentage this season. The middle blocker was hitting an .800 clip well into the third set.

Junior Jillian Shemanski (Jupiter, Fla.), C-USA's current Defensive Player of the Week, sits at second in the league statistics with 1.18 blocks per set. The middle blocker, however, has the most total blocks in the conference at 70.

SCOUTING THE MEAN GREEN

North Texas (10-6, 1-2 in C-USA pending Friday night's showdown with Louisiana Tech) is led by two-time C-USA Offensive Player of the Week Carnae Dillard. The junior outside hitter leads the league with 304 kills, averaging 5.33 kills per set. Dillard also rounds out the top 10 league leaders with 195 digs.

Freshman middle blocker Holly Milam leads the defensive front for the Mean Green with 41 total blocks.

Marshall and North Texas have not yet faced a common opponent this season.

WE MEET AGAIN

The Herd defeated North Texas last season 3-1 in Denton. Then-freshman Elyse Panick (Chicago) tallied 11 kills and then-sophomore Lauren Legge (Pliny, W.Va.) collected eight during the contest.

UP NEXT

Marshall will continue with league play on the road, facing new member Western Kentucky on Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET in Bowling Green, Ky., and then heads to Hattiesburg, Miss., for a showdown with Southern Miss at 1 p.m. ET.
