Marshall volleyball will return to the road this weekend, traveling to Ruston, La., to face Louisiana Tech (9-15, 1-9) on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. ET and then to Murfreesboro, Tenn., to face Middle Tennessee (7-17, 3-7) on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. ET.

HAVE YOU HERD?



In her last five matches, junior Lauren Legge (Pliny, W.Va.) has 77 kills (including three matches where she recorded at least 18), averaging 3.67 kills per set to lead the Herd offense. The middle blocker/outside hitter is third on the squad with 233 kills.



Sophomore Ally Kiekover (Grand Rapids, Mich.) leads Marshall with 258 slams, and classmate Cassie Weaver (Huntington) stands second with 240.



Sophomore Elyse Panick (Chicago) is fifth overall in C-USA in total service aces with 24.



SCOUTING THE LADY TECHSTERS



Tech recorded its first conference victory last weekend (3-1 over Charlotte) before falling to Southern Miss in a match where the Lady Techsters recorded almost as many errors as they did kills.



Senior Rebecca Redgin has a team-high 298 kills, and freshman Emilee Dechant leads the squad with 60 blocks.



Marshall and Louisiana Tech have faced Southern Miss, Western Kentucky, UAB, North Texas, Middle Tennessee, UTSA, FIU, and Charlotte this season. The Lady Techsters have been defeated by every team except Charlotte.



SCOUTING THE BLUE RAIDERS



Middle Tennessee heads into the weekend on a two-match losing streak, falling to Florida Atlantic and Rice.



Murfreesboro native Chelsea Ross (a preseason all-conference selection) leads the offensive force for the Blue Raiders at 399 kills, ranking ninth in the nation.



Controlling the net game for Middle Tennessee is senior Monet Marshall, who has 85 total blocks.



WE MEET AGAIN



Marshall blanked Louisiana Tech last season. Then-junior Legge had nine kills in the victory.



The Herd faced Middle Tennessee earlier this season in Huntington, winning a 3-2 battle. Kiekover led Marshall with 14 kills and a .407 hitting percentage. Additionally, Weaver collected 12 slams, and junior Jillian Shemanski (Jupiter, Fla.) had three solo rejections.

Marshall will return home for its final weekend of the season, hosting Florida Atlantic on Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m., and Western Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.
