Richardson Paces Herd at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.-Marshall triple jumper Jasia Richardson finished third Friday to lead the Herd's outdoor track and field team at the prestigious Penn Relays.
Richardson jump of 13.10 meters was just one hundredth of a meter behind Auburn's Marshay Ryan and .35 meters back of LaQue Moen-Davis of Texas A&M.
Marshall's 4x200 meter relay team of Kametra Byrd, Shanice Johnson, Elaine Derricott and Kearra Haynes took 18th in a time of 1:37.13. Its 4x400 team of Derricott, Loren Dyer, Haynes and Johnson placed 31st in a time of 3:48.89.
The Herd's 38th-place showing of Byrd, Johnson, Derricott and Hope Julmiste finished the 4x100 meter relay in 47.16 seconds.
Marshall will be back in action Friday at the Ohio Open.
