Herd in Second after Two Rounds at Patriot Intercollegiate

LORTON, Va. - Marshall men's golf sits three strokes behind leader Missouri after two rounds on Sunday at George Mason's Patriot Intercollegiate at Laurel Hill Golf Club.
The Thundering Herd has two team members in the top 10 with sophomore Will Evans (Charleston, W.Va.) in a tie for sixth (even 142) and freshman Alex Weiss (Pickerington, Ohio) in a tie for ninth (1-over-par 143). Marshall combined for a team total of 5-over 573, adding one stroke between Rounds 1 and 2.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
Missouri tops the 17-team field at 2-over 570, followed by the Herd (5-over 573) and Seton Hall (12-over 580). James Madison's Connor Walters leads individually at 2-under 140, with four players tied for second at 1-under 141.

"We had a good day today. I think the guys were glad to get back out on the course and compete after a disappointing finish in the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational. We played well most of the day, but we were disappointed with the way we finished the day because we let some strokes get away at the end. We are looking forward to playing tomorrow and seeing if we can improve on the mistakes we made today."
