HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall track and field team released its schedule for the 2015-16 season Tuesday.
The Herd will host three indoor meets in its second season on the Jeff Small Track in the Chris Cline Indoor Athletic Facility, starting with the Marshall Opener on Dec. 3 against Ohio and Radford. Marshall also hosts the Thundering Herd Invitational on Jan. 29-30 and the Chipotle Marshall Invitational on Feb. 12-13.
In the indoor season, the Herd will compete in seven regular-season events, before the Conference USA Indoor Championships on Feb. 24-25 in Birmingham, Ala.
The outdoor season opens March 18-19 at the Wake Forest Open in Winston-Salem, N.C., and will compete in eight more regular-season meets before the C-USA Championships on May 12-15 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. A look at the full schedule is available here.
"We are really looking forward to the upcoming indoor season," Marshall coach Jeff Small said. "We have had a great fall training period and are anxious to see how well our girls perform in our first meet.
"The team will be led this year by senior Asia Bange, who finished third last year in the Conference USA Indoor Championships in the 60-meter hurdles. Our throws group will be the most improved area of the team with several freshmen who will be challenging our school records right off the bat. The number of schools in our home meets has almost doubled, so we look forward to hosting several new schools on our track this season."
