@HerdBaseball to Face No. 22 Florida Atlantic

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. --
Marshall baseball (9-18, 2-7 C-USA) will head to the Sunshine State, as the team prepares to take on Conference USA foe No. 22 Florida Atlantic (23-6, 6-3 C-USA) in a three-game series at FAU Baseball Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla.

Saturday's contest will be televised on American Sports Network and local affiliates, and is the second time the Herd has been broadcast on television this season.

The attached PDF includes all clearances for ASN on a national scale.

Friday and Sunday's games can be viewed via live streaming links provided, and live stats are available for all three games.

HAVE YOU HERD?

Marshall raked in 23 hits in its Wednesday night  16-3 win over Miami (OH) in Oxford, Ohio. Every member in the Herd lineup recorded a hit  with the exception of one. Sophomore Corey Bird (Pinch, W.Va.) led the squad with four, and senior Josh King (Troup, Ga.) fell just a triple shy of  the cycle, smacking his third homer of the year.

Five Herd players hail from Miami, less than an hour drive from Boca Raton. Among them is senior shortstop Sergio Leon, who tops the squad in average, stolen bases, RBI and tied for first in hits (.343, 7, 20, 35). He also has seven doubles with a triple and a grand slam.

SCOUTING THE OWLS

The Owls have won two-of-three conference series, sweeping Charlotte and taking two from UTSA. They lost twice to first place Middle Tennessee. Sophomore infielder Stephen Kerr and   Brendon Sanger lead FAU, each with a .352 batting average. Sanger has 21 RBI, and ---- Christian Dicks tops the team with six home runs.

The Owls pitching staff has a combined ERA of 3.23, pulling in 237 strikeouts.

UP NEXT

Marshall will play host to two former Mid-American Conference rivals, welcoming Miami (OH) and Ohio to Huntington for midweek contests on Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8.
