HUNTINGTON, W. Va.  -- Marshall baseball's Chase Boster (Stafford, Va.) was named to the Conference USA 2015 All-Academic team, as released by the league office Monday afternoon.

Boster, a right-handed junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.37 as a chemistry major with a minor in entrepreneurship, is a five-time member of C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and has made the Dean's List at Marshall every semester.

"Congratulations to Chase for representing us," head coach Jeff Waggoner said. "He is the definition of a student-athlete, both in the classroom and on the field, and we are very excited about his future here at Marshall and in the professional world."

Boster is baseball's first All-Academic selection since 2011, when pitchers Kyle Blank and Arik Sikula were named to the squad. Chase is one three pitchers on the 2015 list, and is one of two starters.

In his 2015 campaign, he led the team with a 7-1 record, with five wins in C-USA action, including three consecutive Friday night wins over Charlotte, Old Dominion and then-first place Middle Tennessee. Boster maintained a below 2.00 ERA until May, where he was charged with his first loss against Southern Miss. He ended the season with a 2.95 ERA, 10th best in C-USA, and a .233 opponent's batting average, 8th best in C-USA. His seven wins were the fourth best in the league.

He is the only Marshall pitcher in history to record a win the first game of the season in three consecutive seasons (2013, 2014, 2015), and was named to Perfect Game's 2014 summer Collegiate All-American third team.

Chase has already begun research for his national capstone presentation to be delivered next May, and serves as a member of Marshall's Student Athletic Advisory Council.

Nine of the 12 baseball-member schools are represented on the team, with FAU, Rice, and WKU placing two members each on the 12-man list.
