HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall baseball has added to its 2016 signing class with the addition of left-handed catcher Sam Finfer out of Bellevue College in Bellevue, Wash.

In high school, Finfer hit a .486 clip in 2012 for Interlake High School with 10 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 15 RBI, and 22 runs scored. He earned the Interlake Golden Spikes Award as the best offensive and defensive player on the team. Additionally, Finfer was named First Team All-County. After a stellar senior campaign, Finfer was drafted in the 29th round of the 2013 MLB Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

However, Sam chose to attend Seattle University for his freshman year,  where he started 33 games and played in 45. He then transferred to Bellevue College for his sophomore year, where he started 36 games with eight doubles and three home runs to go along with 21 RBI.

Waggoner on Finfer: "We are very excited to add Sam to our program. He brings a lot to the table for us as a catcher and is another middle-of-the-order left-handed bat.  We look for him to do great things here and help us get to where we want to go."
