HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall volleyball continues its season on the road this weekend with a trip to the Fairfield Invitational, hosted by Fairfield University. The invitational will take place Friday and Saturday. The Herd will face New Hampshire at 4 p.m. Friday. Marshall wraps up the tournament Saturday against Stony Brook at 12:30 p.m. and Boston College at 5:30 p.m.

DIG, SET, ATTACK
With the fundamentals of volleyball being dig, set and attack, the Herd has excelled this season in those categories among its Conference USA brethren. Junior Libero Allie Kellerman (Louisville, Ky.) is third in the conference in digs, 66 in 14 sets, a 4.71 average. Setting up the attack for Marshall is sophomore Kayla Simmons (Gainesville, Fla.). Simmons has averaged 9.79 assists per set, good for fifth in C-USA. Junior Cassie Weaver (Huntington, W.Va.) and sophomore Taylor Pelton (Louisville, Ky.) sit at sixth and ninth in C-USA in kills with 4.29 and 3.64 per set, respectively.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
After a slow start to the season, New Hampshire has won its last two matches with victories over Wake Forest and Northeastern. The Wildcats' defense has propelled them to a 2-2 start as they have 30 total blocks with 110 attack errors forced. Tori Forrest has a team high 40 kills with 162 attacks. Forrest also has 40 digs. Maggie Kenney leads the block category with 14 total blocks, which includes two solos.

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook's lone win of the season came last week against Buffalo at the Penn State Classic. SBU went on to fall to Villanova and the host school Nittany Lions. During the week, Stony Brook fell at Manhattan, 3-1. The Seawolves have five players who have appeared in all 15 sets this season, including Kathy Fletcher, who averages 3.4 kills per set. Morgan Kath leads the squad with 30 digs and 137 assists.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College started its season the same way as the Herd - undefeated. The Eagles hosted the Boston College Invitational last week and competed against South Alabama, Providence and Sacred Heart. Leading BC in kills is Katty Workman with 41. Senior Kam McLain has 12 rejections in 10 sets.
