Meet Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University track and field team continues its 2015-16 indoor season Friday at the Kentucky Invitational, hosted by the University of Kentucky. The event kicks off at 4 p.m. and picks up again on Saturday at 9 a.m.

In Marshall's previous meet, the Marshall Opener, the Herd topped Ohio (65-48) and Radford (71-37). The Herd posted nine total individual and relay wins in the meet.

At the Marshall Opener, freshman Elisabeth Paulina went on to break the school, meet, and facility record in the 600-meter run, with a time of 1:32.80. Senior Shanice Johnson broke her own school record and also set a meet and facility record in the 300-meter dash with a time of 40.52. Freshman Allie Perry won the pole vault with a clearance of 3.35 meters, a school record.

Marshall coach Jeff Small said the Kentucky Invitational is traditionally a meet that provides strong opposition and a measuring stick for programs early in the new semester.

"It should be really good competition," Small said. "It always is, especially with some SEC and ACC type schools there. We're looking forward to seeing how hard our got through the first week of training and we're just really excited to get the indoor season back underway."
