HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Registration for the 19th annual Sweetheart Clinic is now closed, Marshall Athletics announced Tuesday.
The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 6 at 9 .m. in the indoor facility of the Chris Cline Athletic Complex.
Participants will be divided into age groups and will rotate through nine different stations, learning developmental sports skills from many of the Marshall’s women’s sports coaches and student-athletes. In addition to developmental skill instruction, participants will receive a free t-shirt.
Check-in for participants will run from 9-9:20 a.m. Following the clinic, participants will enjoy a pizza party and a Marshall Cheerleaders-led pep rally in the Cam Henderson Center. Participants receive FREE admission to the Marshall women's basketball game versus UTSA at 1:00 p.m. in the Cam Henderson Center and are encouraged to attend!
The clinic -- including pizza party, pep rally and the women's basketball game -- is free to participants. Sweetheart Clinic family members and observers may purchase a ticket to the Herd women's basketball game at the clinic for $3.
The Sweetheart Clinic began in 1998 in recognition of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Since its inception, more than 2,000 girls have participated and had the opportunity to learn developmental skills in all nine of Marshall varsity women's sports.
Each year the Sweetheart Clinic is made possible through loyal partners, who have a true appreciation for the Thundering Herd and the National Girls and Women in Sports Day event. Marshall Athletics would like to thank Valley Health, Marshall OBGyn, Marshall Orthopedics, and Fat Patty’s for helping to make the event possible this year.
