@HerdVolleyball Begins Three-Match Road Swing this Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall volleyball begins its three-match road swing this weekend as the Thundering Herd will play at Rice on Friday at 7 p.m. (ET) and at Louisiana Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m. (ET).
HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall improved its overall record to 15-5 and C-USA record to 4-1 with a five set win over UTSA on Oct. 9, and a sweep over FIU on Oct. 11. The Herd remains perfect inside the Cam Henderson Center this season with a 5-0 mark. Marshall has a conference-best 11 sweeps this season, one more than WKU and Southern Miss.
Senior libero Allie Kellerman and freshman Jac'cara Walker were honored by the league office on Monday. Kellerman was named the defensive player of the week while Walker earned freshman of the week. It was the fourth time that Kellerman has earned the award this season and Walker's second time. Kellerman has a team-high 339 digs and is third all-time at Marshall for digs with 1,513. Walker paces the Herd offensively with a team-best 236 kills.
Freshman middle blocker Madison Hill continues to rank among the top in the nation for hitting. The Rockwall, Texas native, is hitting .459 this season, good for first in C-USA and fourth in the NCAA. Hill hit at .706 against FIU on Tuesday night.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
Rice (12-8, 4-1 C-USA) had its eight-match win streak snapped on Tuesday at Florida Atlantic in five sets. The Owls were paced by Andi Bawcum, Chelsey Harris and Leah Mikesky with 13 kills apiece while Madison McDaniel earned her 14th double-double of the season with 49 assists and 13 digs.
Overall, Rice is led by Harris and Mikesky with 271 and 231 kills, respectively. McDaniel ranks second in C-USA with 791 assists. The Owls are strong on the block as they rank second in the conference with 187 total blocks and average 2.44 per set.
SCOUTING THE LADY TECHSTERS
Louisiana Tech (10-11, 1-4 C-USA) enters this weekend's match coming off a sweep over Grambling State on Wednesday. Angela Papach was the lone Lady Techster to record double-digit kills, registering 10. Brooke Short finished with 22 assists and Jacie McClure had 16 digs.
Louisiana Tech leads Conference USA with 1,287 digs, 112 service aces and 2,780 total attacks. Papach has a team-high 256 kills while Marta Monne has 201 kills of her own.
The Lady Techsters will play at Southern Miss Friday before welcoming the Herd Sunday.
