Herd Track and Field to Host Chipotle Marshall Invitational

Meet Schedule
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall track and field team hosts its final indoor meet of the season, the Chipotle Marshall Invitational, this Friday and Saturday at the Jeff Small Track at Chris Cline Athletic Complex.
Action starts at 5 p.m. on Friday and continues Saturday at 9 a.m. A tentative schedule is available here.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children and free for Marshall University students with valid MUID.
The Herd is coming off of a very strong performance at the Akron Invitational. Senior Alexandra Phares finished second in the 3k run, with a time of 10:35, a lifetime best for Phares by 15 seconds. Freshman Hasana Clark finished second in the blue division of the shot put, with a throw of 13.44m. Senior Asia Bange finished third in the 60-meter hurdles gold division (8.61). Junior Antonique Butler finished fourth in the gold triple jump division, with a jump of 12.15m. Senior Shanice Johnson finished ninth in the gold 400-meter dash, with a time of 57.62.
"There should be some great competition at this meet," Marshall coach Jeff Small said. "It's exciting bringing in new schools. We had some great performances last weekend and I'm excited to see what the competition holds for us. "

The Herd competes at the Ohio State Buckeye Tune-Up on Friday, Feb. 19. That is the final regular season meet before the Conference USA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala on Feb. 24-25.
