SCOUTING THE BEARS
Brown started its season this past weekend at the USA Baseball-Irish Classic in Cary, N.C., going 1-2 with a season-opening win over Buckell. The Bears went on to suffer defeat to Notre Dame, 7-6, and Alabama, 2-0.
The Bears are led by senior Jake Levine with a .375 batting average (3-8), two RBIs and one double. Earning the lone win for Brown was junior Christian Taugner, who went eight innings and allowed no runs on three hits, with six strikeouts.
Brown leads the all-time series against Marshall, 1-0. The last meeting occurred in 1990.
