HUNTINGTON, W.Va.
-- Marshall baseball (30-18, 19-8 Conference USA) plays its final home series of 2016, welcoming the Old Dominion Monarchs (31-20, 14-13 C-USA) to Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, W.Va., for a three-game series beginning Thursday. The series continues on Friday at noon and Saturday at 1 p.m.


ON THE MOUND
Thursday: RHP Chase Boster (6-2, 3.72 ERA) vs. RHP Sam Sinnen (6-1, 3.97 ERA)
Friday: LHP Parker Danciu (4-3, 5.35 ERA) vs. LHP Adam Bainbridge (3-4, 4.86 ERA)
Saturday: RHP JD Hammer (4-2, 4.45 ERA) vs. TBA

Boster enters Thursday's contest with 18 career wins, one shy of the all-time record at Marshall. The Stafford, Va., native would tie Grant Harper (2001-04) and Albie DeYoung (1975-78) with a win. Boster also ranks sixth in games started (38) and seventh in innings pitched (234.0).

Danciu received recognition from CollegeSportsMadness.com on Monday for tossing eight innings with four strikeouts at WKU this past Saturday. Danciu allowed eight hits with one run (unearned).

WITH A WIN...
The 2016 Marshall baseball team has the chance to make history. With a win against Old Dominion, the Thundering Herd will become the all-time winningest team in program history. Marshall tied the record of 30 wins set in 2008 on Sunday with a 5-2 win at WKU. The Herd has won its last nine conference games, and has won 13 of its last 16 contests.

THANK YOU SENIORS
On Saturday, 10 members of the Thundering Herd will play their final home game. Marshall will recognize Aaron Bossi, Chase Boster, Ryne Dean, Robert Fajardo, DJ Gee, JD Hammer, Sam Hunter, Keanu Ramos, Caleb Ross and Heston Van Fleet. The 10 players have combined for 748 games played, 380 hits and 405 strikeouts.

ON THE CALL
Games this weekend against the Monarchs can be heard on the Thundering Herd IMG Sports Network with Steve Cotton and Woody Woodrum on ESPN Radio FMs 93.3 and 94.1, and also on AMs 930 and 1340.

SCOUTING THE MONARCHS
Old Dominion won two of three against Middle Tennessee this past weekend to clinch its third consecutive series win. With the two wins, the Monarchs passed the 30-win threshold and earned a spot in the Conference USA Tournament.

Offensively, Old Dominion is led by Zach Rutherford and Connor Myers. Rutherford is batting .327 with a team-high 67 hits, while Myers has a .311 batting average with a team-high 39 RBIs.

UP NEXT
