Antonique Butler Qualifies for NCAA Championships in Triple Jump

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.-Junior Antonique Butler has qualified for the NCAA National Track and Field Championships in the triple jump, and will begin this weekend in the East Regional.
The East Regional is set for Jacksonville, Florida at the University of North Florida this Thursday through Saturday. The Herd Track and Field team competed earlier this season at North Florida at the UNF Spring Break Invitational.
Butler, a junior from Nassau, Bahamas, finished sixth in the triple jump at the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with a jump of 12.38-meters.
In the outdoor season, Butler has six top-10 finishes in the triple jump, including a win at the Wake Forest Open. At the UNF Spring Break Invitaitonal, she jumped at a PR of 12.76-m, finishing third.
The top 12 finishers in the triple jump advance to the final round in Eugene, Oregon from June 8-11.
The women's triple jump begins Saturday at 6:30 pm ET, and Butler competes in the second of four flights.
