Marshall head coach Mitch Jacobs:
ââ'¬â€¹Opening statement
"We see a lot of energy out of our team. It will drop. It will then go up and down, and up and down. We need to learn how to sustain our energy, but that's what you'll get with a young team. I thought our middles and Jessa Long had a good night. We really picked everything up in set three, because there was zero energy in the opening two sets. We just need to keep pushing and keep going. We're not far off. We just need to learn to finish and be aggressive. They sideout at 91 percent in the fifth set, but they weren't doing that well in the other sets. You can't do that. You need to serve tougher and play harder.
We were up against a really good team tonight and had them up against the ropes. They just played lights out in the fifth set. We didn't play poorly in set five. We sideout at 71 percent and that's usually good enough to win every time. You just need to be better then and there."
On the performances of Addisyn Rowe and Shelby Conley
"The more we can get Addy involved, the better we can be. She's a young player. She's getting better in front of our eyes in every game. It's fun to watch, but it would be better with some Ws."
