@HerdVolleyball Secures Final Spot in Conference USA Championship

IRVING, Texas — Marshall volleyball will be seeded eighth at the Conference USA Championship, the league office announced Saturday.
The Herd clinched its spot in the eight-team tournament with its three-set win over UAB on the final day of the regular season.
This year marks the sixth consecutive season with a Conference USA Championship appearance. The Herd has made every conference tournament since joining Conference USA in 2005. Conference USA did not have a tournament in 2010 and 2011.
North Texas and WKU finished in a tie atop the standings with identical 13-1 conference records. The Mean Green will be the top seed by virtue of its head-to-head win over the Lady Toppers. WKU, the tournament host, will be seeded second, followed by Rice, UTSA, Florida Atlantic, Southern Miss, Charlotte and the Herd.
Marshall will play top seed North Texas Friday at 6 p.m. in its opening match of the tournament. The match will be streamed live on CUSA.tv.
