Herd To Compete in Golden State at Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.-Following a week of training in the Golden State, the Marshall track and field team competes Saturday in the 36th annual Cal Poly ShareSLO Invitational.
The meet begins at 1 p.m. ET Saturday at Cal Poly which hosts a meet at its newly renovated facility for the first time.
The Herd competes at the alma mater of head coach Jeff Small. Small lettered four years in track and three years in cross country for the Mustangs, and was part of the 1978 and 1979 Division II National Championship cross country teams and 1979 and 1980 Division II National Championship track and field teams.
The Herd will compete against unfamiliar opposition. In the Division I scoring section, it will compete against hosts Cal Poly as well as Fresno State, Pepperdine, and CSU Bakersfield. Other schools competing include San Francisco State, Cal State Stanislaus, Fresno Pacific, Cuesta College, Allan Hancock College, College of the Sequoias, West L.A. College and Yuba College.
