KETTERING, Ohio – The Marshall men's golf team is back in action at the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate, Oct. 14-15 at the NCR Country Club and hosted by Dayton University. The two-day, three-round event tees off Monday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The course at NCR is a par-71 with total yardage of 7,048. Live scoring is provided through BirdieFire.com.
"We are really excited to be at NCR this week for the Dayton Flyer Invitational," Herd head coach Matt Grobe said. "It is a great course! We were able to bring all the guys this week so it will be really good for me to see all the guys compete in our last fall event."
Marshall is one of 11 teams playing in the tournament. The other schools are Dayton, Wright State, Bowling Green, Oakland, Northern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne, Loyola-Chicago, Bradley, Cleveland State and Akron.
All eight of Marshall's active players will be competing in Dayton. The players competing as the team for the Herd will be redshirt senior Ben Roeder, sophomore Kyle Mitchell, freshman Tyler Jones, junior Brad Plaziak, and redshirt junior Cameron Root. Playing as individuals, and not counting toward the team score, are redshirt juniors Matt Hoffman and Will Straub, and senior Cole Moore.
Marshall is coming off a 14th place finish at the Mountaineer Intercollegiate.
