Saturday’s Baseball Groundbreaking Moved to Chris Cline Indoor Athletics Complex

Transportation to be provided from new stadium lot
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics has moved its Saturday morning groundbreaking (10:30 a.m.) for the new baseball stadium to the Chris Cline Indoor Athletics Complex, the department announced on Thursday morning. The event is open to the public.
Parking will be provided at the site of the new stadium (along 24th Street, between 4th and 5th Avenue). Transportation from that lot to the indoor facility will be provided, courtesy of the city of Huntington and the TTA. Those who have parking passes for Marshall Football's 2:30 p.m. Homecoming game versus Western Kentucky should park in their assigned spaces.
On hand to participate in the groundbreaking will be Thundering Herd alums and Major League Baseball all-stars Jeff Montgomery and Rick Reed.
Also taking part in Saturday's announcement will be Marshall President Dr. Jerry Gilbert, Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick, Huntington mayor Steve Williams, Thundering Herd head baseball coach Jeff Waggoner, legendary former Marshall head coach Jack Cook, stadium architect AECOM and Jim Bailes, Chairman of the Marshall University Board of Governors.
