Tipoff against the Purple Aces set for Sunday at 2 p.m. eastern
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Marshall women's basketball team is back on the road for just the second time this season to take on the Evansville Purple Aces. Tipoff from Meeks Family Fieldhouse is scheduled for 2 p.m. eastern on Sunday.
The Thundering Herd enters the game with a 3-2 record. The Purple Aces come in at 1-4.

Series History: 4th all-time meeting – Marshall leads 2-1.
Last Meeting: Nov. 29, 2018 in Huntington – Marshall won 72-65 in overtime, it was Marshall's first overtime game since March 5, 2014. A span of 131 games.
Marshall is looking to bounce back after a tough 57-52 loss at home to Morgan State on Thursday. The Herd struggled offensively throughout much of the contest with the defense keeping the team in the game. Marshall's defense held the Bears to just 33.9 percent from the field. However, the Herd shot just 31.9 percent.
Freshman Savannah Wheeler leads the Herd in scoring with 13.4 points per game. Junior Taylor Pearson is next with 11.8 points per contest and fellow junior Kristen Mayo is third with 11.4. Redshirt senior Khadaijia Brooks is also scoring in double-figures with 10.6 per game and is the team leader in rebounds at 7.2 per contest.
Senior Ashley Saintigene has been a force down low with 16 blocks in the first five game. She needs just three more swats to become the seventh player in program history with 100 or more career blocks.
Opponent
Evansville opened the season with a 77-61 win over Brescia University. The team has been on a four-game slide since with losses to Southeastern Missouri (80-63), SIU Edwardsville (85-74), Eastern Illinois (90-44) and finally to Austin Peay (80-64).
In the loss to Austin Peay, the Purple Aces shot 63.9 percent from the floor. However, the Governors hit 16 three-pointers to just seven from Evansville. Jada Poland finished with 23 points, three blocks and two steals in the loss.
Abby Feit leads the team in scoring with 15.8 per game and Poland is second with 11.2 per contest. Feit also leads the team on the glass with 9.0 boards per game. Evansville is shooting 39.8 percent from the floor, 26.1 percent from three and 71.4 percent from the line. The Purple Aces have been getting outrebounded by an average of 8.8 boards per game.
