Quotes from Marshall assistant coach Caleb Bowen:

"Both Coach Small and I are really excited to watch our teams compete down in Rock Hill this weekend. We are facing some great competition with Charlotte, Winthrop, Coastal Carolina, and Charleston Southern. This will be the first meet where we run the distances we'll race at the conference championship (8K for men/5K for women), so it'll be a good test to see where we truly are. I believe both squads are well prepared and we're going to race to win.

Expect to see our men's pack to be much closer this weekend as we are opening up a few guys that we held out at Pitt. We have a great core of young guys that are led by great senior leadership. We have 5-6 guys that are all vying for that top spot so it's going to be a lot of fun watching them work together and compete. Also, expect to see the women have a tighter pack with the strong six we had together last meet, as well as adding sophomore Alex Evans to the mix as she makes her season debut."
