Men’s Golf Completes River Run Collegiate

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Marshall men's golf team finished the River Run Collegiate, Tuesday afternoon at the River Run Country Club.
The Thundering Herd finished 15th.
Sophomore Kyle Mitchell finished strong with four birdies on the front-nine, after starting the day on the 10th hole, and scored a 1-under 71 on Tuesday. Mitchell moved up 22 spots on the leaderboard. Freshman Tyler Jones saw a seven-stroke improvement in the third round and was the top finisher for the Herd, tied for 37th, nine places up from Monday.
James Madison ran away with the team title with a 22-stroke advantage over Charlotte. The Dukes finished with a team score of 15-under par, while the 49ers finished 7-over. Walker Cress of James Madison won the individual award after shooting a 3-under 69 to move ahead of Trey Tobias of Charlotte. Cress won by three-strokes.
