Women’s Golf Set to Tee Off at Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

Event hosted by University of Kentucky to be played at the Big Blue Course
LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a quick turnaround, the Marshall women's golf team is back on the links Friday through Sunday, Sept. 27-29, at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky.
The event will be played at the Big Blue Golf Course and is a par-72 with total yardage of 6,114. Live scoring will be provided by GolfStat.com.
Marshall is one of 13 teams set to compete in the three-day, three-round tournament and features six programs that finished last season ranked in the GolfStat.com Top 100. The other schools are host (No. 61) Kentucky, Akron, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, University of Indianapolis, (No. 65) Middle Tennessee, (No. 64) Memphis, Murray State, (No. 57) Penn State, (No. 84) Rutgers, (No. 100) Tulane and WKU.
Playing for Marshall will be juniors Kerri Parks and Stormy Randazzo, sophomores Jackie Schmidt and Torren Kalaskey, and freshman Peyton Schaffer. This will be Kalaskey's first collegiate event. Marshall tees off Friday on the 10th hole at 9:15 a.m. Tee times for the second round on Saturday begin at 8:30 a.m. and the final round on Sunday starts at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The Herd is coming off an eighth place finish at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Mich., Sept. 22-23. Parks was Marshall's top finisher, tied for 13th.
This will be the 30th time the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational has been held. It started back in 1979 and was played every year through 1997. It was brought back from 2002-08, again in 2009 and 2011, and now each of the past three years.
