HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Thundering Herd men's basketball returns to the Cam Henderson Center for a matchup with Southern Miss on Thursday night. It will be Marshall's first home game in February.

Redshirt freshman Andrew Taylor won the Conference USA Freshman of the Week for his performances at FIU and Florida Atlantic last week. He averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals between the two games.
Sophomore Taevion Kinsey ranks third in total assists in the conference with 95 helpers. The guard also ranks fourth in field-goal percentage (49.1 percent) and sixth in points per game (15.6).
Jarrod West ranks 22nd nationally in steals with 48, the second most in Conference USA, while the junior guard ranks fourth in the conference in total assists with 86.
As a team, Marshall ranks fifth nationally in blocked shots (134) and 11th in steals (206).
SCOUTING SOUTHERN MISS
The Golden Eagles come into the contest with a 7-16 overall record with a 3-7 record in C-USA play. They are 1-8 in road games this season.
Southern Miss has three student-athletes averaging double-figure scoring, with Gabe Watson leading the squad with 13.2 points per game. Watson ranks second on USM in assists (68) and is third in steals (23).
Tyler Stevenson is second in scoring and rebounds per game with 12.4 and 6.5, respectively.
Leonard Harper-Baker has a team-best 7.4 rebounds per game, 36 steals and 22 blocks this season.
