Marshall defeated Southern Miss on Thursday night, 72-58, avenging a pair of losses to the Golden Eagles last season.
Redshirt sophomore Iran Bennett recorded his third double-double of the season on Thursday with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
The Thundering Herd is 10-0 when having the lead with five minutes left in the game.
Junior Jarrod West scored 14 points while grabbing five rebounds and five steals in the victory.
Sophomore Taevion Kinsey poured 16 points into the basket, grabbed six rebounds and had six helpers against Southern Miss.
Freshman Marko Sarenac torched USM from beyond-the-arc as he made four of his six attempts from deep for 12 points.
SCOUTING LOUISIANA TECH
The Bulldogs are coming off a loss at Western Kentucky on Thursday night that ended its four-game win streak.
DaQuan Bracey is the team's leading scorer with 12.7 points per game and leads the squad with 69 assists this season. The guard is also second in steals with 25.
Derric Jean is fourth in scoring with 9.3 points per game, but leads the Bulldogs with 27 steals and is second in assists with 68.
Louisiana Tech holds a scoring margin of 12.6 points per game this season and outrebounds its opponents by an average of 2.7 rebounds.
