Men’s Golf Through Day One of the Dayton Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio – The Marshall men's golf team finished the first two rounds at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Monday, played at the NCR Country Club.
The Thundering Herd is in sixth place out of ten teams. The third and final round tees off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Live scoring is provided by Golfstat.com.
"We really didn't play very well today," Herd head coach Matt Grobe said. "Ryan (Bilby) and Tyler (Jones) played pretty solid, but as a team we just didn't have it today. Hopefully we will come out tomorrow and put together a good round."
Freshman Ryan Bilby leads the team after shooting a 5-over, 147 and is tied for 14th. Bilby shot four total birdies and hit par on 23 holes. Junior Tyler Jones had a great second round, improving his score by seven strokes and jumping up 19 places on the leaderboard. Jones hit two birdies in the second round to finish with an even par, 71. Senior Isaac Prine, playing as an individual, improved his score by 11 strokes in the second round and moved up 10 places on the leaderboard.
Wright State leads the event by 13 strokes over Youngstown State and Ball State. Blake Solomon of Dayton leads the field after scoring a 2-under, 140. He has a one-stroke lead over four players.
