KETTERING, Ohio – The Marshall men's golf team is back in action Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 18-19, at the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate. The two-day, three-round event takes place at the NCR Country Club.
The course is a par-71, with total yardage of 7,004. The tournament tees off with a 9 a.m. shotgun start on both Monday and Tuesday. The participants will play two rounds on Monday and then a final round on Tuesday. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
Making the trip for Marshall to compete at the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate are graduate student Noah Mullens, senior Isaac Prine, junior Tyler Jones, redshirt freshmen Brett Montgomery, Joseph Kalaskey, Layne Lambert and Andrew Wyss, and freshman Ryan Bilby. The Herd will begin the day on the back-nine.
Marshall is one of 10 teams playing in the tournament. Along with the host Dayton the other programs are Ball State, Bradley University, Cleveland State, Loyola-Chicago, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne, Wright State and Youngstown State.
The Herd is coming off a fifth place finish at the Mountaineer Invitational. Marshall put together a great third round to move up three spots on the leaderboard, with a team score of 13-under, 275. The Herd has finished in the top five at all four events that the team has competed in so far this fall.
