BOWLING GREEN – The Marshall women's golf completed the first round of the Olde Stone Intercollegiate, then play was suspended in the second round due to darkness Monday.
The tournament resumes Tuesday at 9 a.m. ET, with the remainder of the second round and then the teams will continue on to the third round. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.
The Thundering Herd is 14th.
"Tough conditions for us today but I was proud of our fight in the first round," Herd head coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We didn't give up. Hoping we can finish strong tomorrow and play golf like we know how."
Teams competing on a course that took plenty of rain overnight and constant 15-20 mph winds throughout the day. Junior Makena Rauch leads the team and hit two birdies. Senior Jackie Schmidt also recorded two birdies and fellow senior Torren Kalaskey had one.
Memphis leads the field after the first round by two strokes over Louisville. Tiffany Arafi, who is ranked No. 25 in the GolfStat Top 100, and playing for No. 58 Coastal Carolina shot a 4-under 68 to lead the field after the first round.
