Women’s Golf Through Day One of Grandover Fall Classic

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Marshall women's golf team is through the first two rounds of the Grandover Fall Classic, and improved in the second round on Monday.
The event is played at the Grandover East Course and the third round tees off Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.
The Thundering Herd is seventh out of 12 teams. The Herd dropped its team score in the second round by nine strokes and moved up two places on the leaderboard. Senior Jackie Schmidt leads the team, tied for 21st. Schmidt improved her score by four strokes in the second round, highlighted by four birdies, and moved up nine places on the leaderboard.
Freshman Emily McLatchey is next and is tied for 24th. McLatchey had three birdies in the first round. Other highlights from the day include graduate student Stormy Randazzo scoring an eagle in the second round on No. 13, her second hole of the round. She also dropped her score by three strokes and moved up four places on the leaderboard.
Junior Makena Rauch saw an improvement of seven strokes in the second round and moved up 11 spots on the leaderboard. Senior Torren Kalaskey also improved her score by five strokes in the second round and moved up two places.
No. 47 East Tennessee State leads the team competition by 20 strokes over South Dakota. Alex Crafton of ETSU sits atop the leaderboard with a one-stroke lead over her teammate Hollie Muse.
