Herd Women’s Soccer Returns to Action at WKU

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Herd women's soccer (2-2) goes back on the road for a contest in Bowling Green, Ky., against the WKU Hilltoppers (4-1-1) on Thursday at 6 p.m. EST/5 p.m. CST.
HAVE YOU HEARD
Marshall won its second road contest of the season at Appalachian State on Saturday (Mar. 13) 2-1.
Freshman Abi Hugh scored her team-leading third and fourth goals of the season as sophomore Morgan White contributed assists on both goals in the victory.
Freshman goalkeeper Regan Meyer came on for sophomore Courtney McVicker during the second half and was credited with the first win of her career.
White now has three assists, most on the Herd.
Hugh also had five shots, all on goal, and has a fired a team-high 10 shots on goal this season. The forward hasn't fired a shot off target in MU's four games.
Junior Kat Gonzalez has nine shots this season, second most on the team.
SCOUTING WKU
The Hilltoppers are 4-1-1 this season with non-conference victories over Southern Illinois, 4-0, and Centre College, 1-0.
In Conference USA action, WKU has defeated Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, 3-1, and FIU at home, 4-3. It drew with Florida Atlantic in its last contest on Mar. 12 by a 1-1 final.
Ambere Barnett has a team-high five goals and 12 points this season.
Barnett is also tied with Brina Micheels, Avery Jacobsen and Sydney Ernest is assists with two.
The Hilltoppers have had nine different student-athletes accumulate a point this season.
SERIES HISTORY
The Herd trails in the all-time series 1-6-0.
