Herd Women’s Soccer Hosts Old Dominion on Senior Day

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Herd women's soccer (2-4, 0-2 C-USA) starts the home stretch of the regular season with three of its final four contests at home when it hosts the Old Dominion Monarchs (3-4-1, 2-2 C-USA) on Thursday at Hoops Family Field. First kick is scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
Thursday will serve as Senior Day for Marshall women's soccer as it honors Canaan Booton, Abi Dropik, Laura Farrelly and Metztli Gonzalez.
 
HAVE YOU HEARD
Marshall lost a road contest at FIU on Monday, 3-1.
 
Sophomore Iselin Noevik scored her first goal of the season and her Marshall career in the loss on assist from sophomore Morgan White.
 
White leads the Herd with four assists this season as freshman Abi Hugh leads in goals with four.
 
White, Noevik and senior Metztli Gonzalez also tallied goals this season.
 
Hugh has a team-best 10 shots on goal this season, as junior Kat Gonzalez leads the Green and White with 11 total shots.
 
Sophomore Courtney McVicker has started all six matches in goal for Marshall. McVicker has made 34 saves and has 1.54 goals against average this season.
 
SCOUTING ODU
The Monarchs are 3-4-1 this season with a 2-2 Conference USA record. ODU is in the midst of a two-game winning streak having won 2-0 at FIU on Mar. 11 and defeating Florida Atlantic 2-0 in Norfolk on Mar. 19.
 
Megan Watts has a team-high two goals on seven shots on goal this season. Watts is also one of five Monarchs to record an assist.
 
Kasey Perry has played in seven of ODU's eight contests this season, has 1.08 goals against average and has three shutouts this season.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Herd leads the all-time series 5-0-1 having won the last contest on Oct. 3, 2019, 3-2, in double overtime at Hoops Family Field.
