South Charleston native headed to Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women's basketball head coach Tony Kemper announced Tuesday that Xavier transfer and South Charleston native Aaliyah Dunham has been added to the Thundering Herd's roster for her final year of eligibility.

The 5'4" Dunham, who was a member of the 2017-18 BIG EAST All-Freshman Team and its All-Academic Team the following season, has played in 105 games over her career with 83 starts. She has averaged 7.0 points and 3.5 assists per game, while shooting 34.6 percent from the 3-point line.

"We are very excited to add Aaliyah," said Kemper. "She brings a wealth of experience and a mentality that can help set the tone for our team. It was a great opportunity for us to get a successful player back home. She will make us better."

Last season, she led the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.2), a figure that currently ranks sixth nationally. She was also second in the BIG EAST in steals (2.5) and seventh in assists (3.8). Her 371 career assists left her eighth all-time in Xavier's record book.
