Women’s Soccer Returns to Huntington to Host Radford

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Coming off five consecutive road contests, the Marshall University women's soccer team (2-3-1) returns to Hoops Family Field to take on Radford (4-0-0) Thursday night at 7 p.m.

HAVE YOU HEARD
MU is on a two-game win streak for the first time since 2019 after defeating Youngstown State, 2-1, and shutting out Akron, 2-0, last week. The shutout was the first under head coach Michael Swan.
Freshman goalkeeper Mira Pastoft and junior goalkeeper Courtney McVicker combined for the shutout at Akron playing 45 minutes each.
Freshman midfielder Cassidy Bell headed home her first collegiate goal off a cross from sophomore midfielder Abi Hugh to give the Herd a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute.
Senior forward Kat Gonzalez then stepped up to the spot in the 40th minute after Marshall drew a penalty and buried home the attempt for her team-leading second goal of the season.
Gonzalez's 15 shots and six shots on target also lead the squad.
Hugh, junior forward Morgan White and freshman midfielder Courtney Corcoran have each contributed an assist this season.
SCOUTING RADFORD
The Highlanders are 4-0-0 this season coming off an 8-0 win over Delaware State on Sept. 4. RU has outscored its opponents 19-2 this season.
Kat Parris is tied for the team lead in goals (four), assists (four) and shots (11), while leading in points (12) and game-winning goals (three). Parris has won back-to-back Big South Conference Freshman of the Week honors and was named the conference's offensive player of the week in the opening week of the season.
Lily McLane is tied for the lead in assists with Parris at four and was named Big South Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Brianna Oliver has tallied four goals this season, while Izzy Armstrong has scored three.
SERIES HISTORY
MU leads 2-1-1 in the all-time series against Radford with the last contest coming in 2010.
