Marshall in search of important seventh win of the season
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall Thundering Herd football team visits Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, Georgia for a showdown with the Georgia Southern Eagles. Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN+.

PRE-GAME NOTES
Marshall enters Saturday's game having won their last two, with a record of 6-4 (3-3 Sun Belt). The Herd defeated App State in its last contest, with freshman quarterback Cam Fancher passing for 225 yards with two touchdowns.
Sixth-year running back Khalan Laborn has rushed for over 1,200 yards in 2022. Laborn collected 290 yards in his previous two road contests at JMU and Old Dominion.
Redshirt junior Owen Porter has been strong in his previous two road games as well. The Huntington native collected four sacks, two forced fumbles, and 11 total tackles in the two games against the Dukes and Monarchs.

ABOUT GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Leading Georgia Southern (5-5, 2-4 Sun Belt) is Clay Helton. Helton is in his first season in Statesboro, after leading a 46-24 run at USC.
Eagles quarterback Kyle Vantrease has thrown for at least one touchdown in all 10 games the team has played this season. The sixth-year quarterback has thrown for 3,307 yards in 2022.

Marshall leads the all-time series 4-2. The Herd and Eagles met last in 1996, in all previous meetings, both teams were ranked in the Top 25 of the I-AA Poll.
